Just because someone is named Time's Person of the Year doesn't necessarily mean you want to bring them home to dinner.


Time Magazine released its shortlist of eight finalists this week for the closely watched Person of the Year award and the list is largely made up of difficult people: a despot, a terrorist leader and a successful but incredibly controversial technology CEO


Oh, and Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate who announced his intention to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. within hours of Time's announcement.


The list of Time finalists includes Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS; Vladimir Putin, Russia's president who has repeatedly gone against Western wishes with military campaigns in the Ukraine and Syria; Trump, who needs no introduction; and Travis Kalanick, the brash CEO of Uber whose nomination quickly sparked an outcry.
